Great American Media Services has appointed Julie McCallum to retail group publisher, taking the helm of Gift Shop® Plus, Stationery Trends and Lawn & Garden Retailer.

Certainly, McCallum is not a new face to the brands, serving as editorial director for the past nine years and as co-owner of Great American Media Services.

“Serving the retail industry has been so important to me as the editorial director of Gift Shop Plus and Stationery Trends,” McCallum said. “I am looking forward to the opportunity as publisher to connect with ALL of our partners. It’s all about how we can help make their businesses better.”

In addition to McCallum’s enhanced role, Abby McGarry becomes part of the team as editorial director of the retail group.

McGarry has covered the retail industry for the past 10 years and is looking forward to joining the Gift Shop Plus and Stationery Trends brands, while continuing her role as editorial director of sister publication Lawn & Garden Retailer.   

“I love telling other people’s stories and am very excited to carry on the rich histories of Gift Shop Plus and Stationery Trends with a fresh perspective,” McGarry says. “Carly McFadden, Sarah Schwartz and I have a lot of exciting things planned for both brands that will continue to serve you, our readers, and our market.”
