Great American Media Services appoints new editorial director, horticulture division
Great American Media Services, publisher of Lawn & Garden Retailer (L&GR), Greenhouse Product News, Stationery Trends and Gift Shop® Plus, has appointed Abby McGarry (Kleckler) to the role of editorial director of its horticulture division.
McGarry isn’t a new face to the brands, having spent seven years in various positions on the editorial team and serving as managing editor of L&GR until 2019.
She started her career in television news but has spent most of the past decade in publishing. Her editorial experience spans across other industries as well, including retail, construction, healthcare and infrastructure. Most recently, she was the senior digital & technology editor of Progressive Grocer, published by EnsembleIQ.
“This is a bit of a homecoming for me, and I could not be more excited to be returning to the horticulture industry,” McGarry said. “It is a huge honor to carry on the rich history of both Lawn & Garden Retailer and GPN.
“We have a lot of exciting things planned, and I look forward to working with Teresa McPherson on the L&GR side to deliver an incredible product that serves you, our readers, and our market.”
