Designer Greetings named Redback Cards as the recipient of the inaugural Vickie Gimbelman Celebrating Women Louie Award. This special honor, presented at the prestigious Louie Awards, was created in memory of Vickie Gimbelman, co-founder of Designer Greetings. Gimbelman devoted 66 years to the greeting card industry, working tirelessly every single day. 

“She was a true force — driven, passionate and deeply committed to her craft. Her determination  and work ethic inspired everyone around her, leaving an enduring mark on the industry she  loved,” said Steven Gimbelman, CEO of Designer Greetings.

The award named in her honor celebrates greeting cards that thoughtfully capture the essence of womanhood through both art and copy — a fitting tribute to a woman whose life’s work was  dedicated to creativity, connection and excellence. Gimbelman’s passion for design and authentic  storytelling reflected her belief in the power of cards to inspire, connect and celebrate women in  all their diversity and strength. 

It is only fitting that this tribute lives on through the Louie Awards — the pinnacle event in the greeting card world. Presented annually by the Greeting Card Association, the Louies are widely regarded as the “Oscars” of the industry, honoring innovation, artistry and excellence in design. With the introduction of the Vickie Gimbelman Celebrating Women Louie Award, her legacy now has a permanent place at this prestigious event, ensuring that each year, outstanding  contributions that uplift and honor women will continue to be recognized.
