Trends in Paper at AmericasMart Atlanta

{Sponsored} The nation’s retail and design community converges in Atlanta this January for the first wholesale buying opportunity of 2019: The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market®. Coming Jan. 8-15, 2019, the 62nd annual Market promises a showplace of trendsetting and in-demand lifestyle, design and fashion product presented across AmericasMart’s more than 1,400 showrooms and 3,400 temporary booths.

Buyers will find many stationers showcased within the gift and home categories. Whimsy is queen with Sass & Belle. They are part of Appelman & Schauben and feature on-trend animal prints such as sloths, llamas, flamingos and cats with bright palettes and bold profiles. Cacti and succulents grace the covers of notepads and sticky notes. Animal-shaped pencil topper erasers keep joy alive, and pastel rainbow watercolor gives cheer to inspirational messages.

Cardtorial, which is part of Karen Alweil Studio, will showcase carved wooden designs in nature including animals, seashells and plants plus geometric designs. The variety of depths in the carving, from cuts barely scratching the surface to holes that reveal the paper beneath them, creates a three-dimensional look that buyers won’t want to miss.

Several brands will offer multiple products across a single line with the same patterns, such as notecards, water bottles and bags. By offering these collections, retailers may see an increase in gift sales through matching set offerings. For Compendiumcollections with these unified looks, check out Studio Oh!, Fringe Studio and Sass & Belle at Appelman & Schauben; PAPAYA!; Compendium at the Tango showroom; and Portico Designs within White Ginger.

In its debut at The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market®, Loloi Rugs enters the Stationery and Gift markets with a fresh look from Rifle Paper Co. to their home décor product.

Lush, vintage-inspired florals and bold palettes are showcased in the new Rifle Paper Co. rug collection. Rifle’s chief creative officer Anna Bond’s imagination is evident in the aesthetic she brings to her paper and fabric themes. On top of the whimsy she brings to vintage, Bond’s travel art showcases destinations in a way that instantly sparks the travel bug. Idyllic and fun cityscapes, iconic objects and Rifle Paper Co. from Loloiscenes of paradise on paper round out the collection.

“Bold and bright, the Palais Collection for Rifle Paper Co. x Loloi Rugs grounds any space with whimsical motifs and playful colors inspired by Anna Bond’s illustrative artwork,” said Cyrus Loloi, principle of Loloi.

Road Runners will showcase favorites such as the witty, smile-inducing designs from Shannon Martin. The cheer and comfort in her sepia nostalgia cars, the new napkin and luggage tag lines, and all of her collections based on old family photos are perennial retailer-favorites. The Rosanne Beck collection is also part of Road Runners; in this line, Luxe Notepads are the center. The range includes botanicals and inspiration and humor. Retailers can also create their very own custom local program for their store.

WHY AMERICASMART ATLANTA?

Market attendees will find an engaging and interactive experience highlighted by new and expanded showrooms, thought leader presentations and seminars, Road Runnerscooking demonstrations, hospitality and industry celebrations.

“Atlanta’s Market has sophisticated buyers who are on top of what’s trending in products, and what consumers would want to see in their homes,” Loloi said.

“The AmericasMart experience allows retailers to shop not only stationery, but coordinating gift brands at the same time. It’s much easier to curate visual displays when the shopping experience is tied together,” said Angela Schmook, vice president of sales and marketing at Road Runners.
