Thinking of You Week 2019 contest winner announced

Thinking of You Week, held Sept. 23-29, 2019, is an international movement that encourages sending a card a day for one week. The event celebrates the energy and creativity of paper lovers everywhere – with the support of greeting card publishers, crafters, card and gift retailers, and the US Postal Service (who created a Thinking of You postmark for first-class letters that reached over a half million homes in September of 2018).

In this community spirit, the Greeting Card Association (GCA) launched an open design contest for the 2019 logo. Entries from across the country were reviewed by the 19-person LOUIE Award panel tasked with picking the best of the best greeting cards for the year. The GCA is excited to announce the winner of the 2019 Thinking of You Week design contest is Elizabeth Silver, a freelance artist and surface pattern designer from Apex, North Carolina. A former print stylist for GAP, Inc., Silver is a freelance designer of stationery, home textiles, apparel prints, plus graphics and licensed artwork for gifts and greeting cards.

The winning prize includes 100 greeting cards from multiple GCA member publishers, and a 250 dollar art supply gift card donated by BLICK Art Materials. Silver’s design will be featured on social media and the website. The design will also be featured on promotional postcards shared within the greeting card industry and on signage at this year’s Noted Expo.
