Las Vegas Market presents a comprehensive schedule this January

Las Vegas Market presents a comprehensive schedule of more than 30 engaging webinars, seminars and events for its Winter 2022 staging, Jan. 23-27, 2022, at World Market Center Las Vegas – including its signature Design Icon, FIRST LOOK and Design West programming plus educational opportunities presented by leading industry organizations and experts.

“This Winter, Las Vegas Market celebrates the return to in-person events with immersive, live experiences that allow Market participants to fully engage again,” said Dorothy Belshaw, executive vice president, chief customer and marketing officer for International Market Centers (IMC). “Together with our industry partners, we are presenting a full slate of programming that highlights thought leaders, celebrates diverse voices and presents actionable tools for growing businesses and making the most of Market.”

Las Vegas Market Signature Programming

Las Vegas Market’s proprietary programming explores trends and highlights design excellence like no other market in Winter 2022.

Las Vegas Market’s 2022 Design Icon Kathryn M. Ireland is celebrated in two events. The Design Icon award highlights the achievements of exemplary design and architectural professionals and offers Las Vegas Market attendees an opportunity to connect with and learn firsthand from living legends. Ireland shares her experiences working with an impressive array of high-profile clients, imparts her design wisdom and philosophies and discusses how she has built her brand on Monday, January 24 at 2 p.m. at the 2022 Design Icon Presentation: Kathryn M. Ireland. Later at 3:00 p.m., she meets market attendees and signs copies of her books Kathryn At Home: A Guide to Simple Entertaining; Inspired By…; and Timeless Interiors.

FIRST LOOK

FIRST LOOK showcases three macro-level trends via Las Vegas Market exhibitors — TOGETHER, NOW SCREENING and FOREST, PRESERVE — through a series of three events featuring curator and editor Julie Smith Vincenti of Nine Muses Media. A pre-market webinar preparing buyers to spot trending product, FIRST LOOK – Winter 2022 Webinar, is Tuesday, Jan. 11 at 1:00 p.m. PST. FIRST LOOK – Winter 2022 – LIVE at Market! is a fast-paced survey of new products and noteworthy trends live on Monday, Jan. 24 at 11:00 a.m. The FIRST LOOK 2022 Tour (Returning!) highlights market trend destinations including the FIRST LOOK display at the Expo at World Market Center Las Vegas through an in-person tour on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 11:00 a.m.

Design West

Design West presents five award-winning, West-coast based designers in discussion about the future of design, sustainability and new opportunities on Sunday, Jan. 23 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a Book Signing & Mixer at 2:00 p.m. Panelists are Chris Barrett, designer, textile designer and owner of Chris Barrett Design in Los Angeles; speaker, author and celebrity designer Lori Dennis of Los Angeles Lori Dennis, LLC; Breegan Jane, HGTV host and founder of Breegan Jane Interior Design in Los Angeles; Brian Paquette, author, retailer, designers and founder of Brian Paquette at Home and Brian Paquette Interiors in Seattle and San Francisco; and Angelo Surmelis, HGTV and TLC host, author and owner of angelo:HOME, based in Los Angeles.

Seminar Destinations

Las Vegas Market launches a new EXPO Seminar destination on the trade show floor in the Expo at World Market Center Las Vegas with a series of culinary and design seminars. HGTV’s Bargain Block Duo – Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas of NINE Design + Homes — address how they blend old, new, and sustainable to create custom, memorable homes at every price point in conversation with Rue editorial director Kelli Lamb in Everybody Deserves Good Design on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 1:30 p.m. Tastemaker and author Danny Seo, publisher and co-principal of Rue magazine and editor-in-chief of Naturally Danny Seo demonstrates all-new recipes on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 3:30 p.m. followed by a book signing of his new book Naturally Delicious Dinners.

Industry Organizations Present Comprehensive Programming

Las Vegas Market also is partnering with seven leading trade organizations and special project organizers – California Central/Nevada Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Fair Trade Federation (FTF), Home Furnishings Association, Museum Store Association (MSA), The Kaleidoscope Project and Zoo, Aquarium & Garden Buyers Group (ZAG) – to present a series of live programming for the Winter 2022 market.

The Kaleidoscope Project

The Kaleidoscope Project, a Designer Showhouse venture which showcases the diverse talent within the creative design industry, is the subject of three fast-paced discussions moderated by Jane Dagmi, editor of Designers Today, on Tuesday, Jan. 25.

The Kaleidoscope Project- Furniture & Lighting Selection Process for a Showhouse and a Client features Rydhima Brar of R/terior Studio in Los Angeles; Iantha Carley of Iantha Carley Interiors in Silver Spring, MD; Doreen Chambers of Doreen Chambers Interiors in New York; Denise Gordon of Austin Gray Design Group in New York; and Nikki Njeri Klugh of Nikki Njeri Klugh in Chula Vista, CA, in conversation about the furniture and lighting selection process each had for the showhouse and how they select for clients at 10:30 a.m.

In collaboration with Fair Trade Federation (FTF), Museum Store Association (MSA), and Zoo, Aquarium & Garden Buyers Group (ZAG), Las Vegas Market presents Sustainable and Ethical Practices for Non-Profit Retail, a discussion that will focus on challenges, best practices and solutions in non-profit retail operations on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 10:00 a.m. Immediately before the session, existing and prospective association members, buyers and vendors are invited to gather for a complimentary breakfast and networking at the Non-Profit Retail Networking Breakfast at 8:30 a.m.
