WOODCHUCK USA modifies production of gift and home merchandise to assist with COVID-19 efforts
Benjamin Vandenwy Melenberg, founder and chairman for WOODCHUCK USA, released a statement on March 25, 2020, about how its business is transitioning its product in order to help with COVID-19 efforts. WOODCHUCK USA designs and manufactures high-end custom wood products in the gift industry. They create a range of products from journals to bar items to home décor and more.
According to its website “WOODCHUCK USA was founded with a simple mission: putting nature back into people’s lives. We are meant to have a deep connection with the Earth. Our passion is to be a daily reminder of our planet’s vulnerability by using our real wood products and planting a tree with every product sold. Our way of making a better world for future generations is us bringing jobs back to America while bringing quality products to our consumers. It’s not about us, it’s about our planet and how we can make a difference now.”
And staying true to its mission, WOODCHUCK USA is now making a difference. “Three days ago, we decided to shift the production at WOODCHUCK USA to manufacturing face shields/PPE for the medical sector. With true American spirit, the brains and talent of our team came together. We are currently producing 55,000 units per day, and will be producing 105,000 units per day by the end of the week,” Melenberg noted in the statement. “I am proud beyond words for what this team is doing for our country and the lives this product will save. If you or anyone you know are currently experiencing a shortage of PPE (specifically Face Shields) which cover the N95 masks, please contact our team immediately. - Cost: $ 5/assembled face shield (MF001); $3/non-assembled face shields (MF002)
