State of Paper survey seeks wholesale stationery input

Stationery Trends’ latest State of Paper survey is taking a shift to a manufacturer focus and aims to find what’s trending in the wholesale market.

The State of Paper series, introduced in the Winter 2019 issue, has so far taken a look at what today’s stationery retailer looks like and what its top-selling products are. Results from our first survey gave an overall positive big picture look. Just about half of the respondents reported their prior year sales trends were up. Retailers have also become much more social media-savvy and are delving into special events and services.

Respondents of the second State of Paper survey shared their selling strategies and products on the rise. Loyalty programs, storytelling through coordinated displays and cross selling are just a few methods retailers are using to boost sales.
