Share Your Story: The Goyave Paperie

A maker that modified its business to weather the pandemic.

The Goyave Paperie, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, is owned and operated by Kathrine Fraley, who is the sole person responsible for all aspects of the business. During the pandemic, Fraley sought to modify her business, specifically the online services, to assist retailers during a challenging time. To keep customers aware of product offerings during COVID-19, Fraley utilized Faire in lieu of attending any in-person shows.

“Product imagery is huge, I make my website feel like a customer is looking at these products in person,” Fraley noted. “I share IG stories of me holding my products, using them. I offered an option on my website to send a handwritten card directly to a friend. I added gift cards to my IG for people to shop at a later date.”

She shared with some details that worked well for The Goyave Paperie during the pandemic. “Think of products that will help your customer and make them, fast! For example, with people still working from home, I added a cute new weekly notepad to brighten their desk citation and stay organized.”

Additionally, she relayed some helpful information for retailers. “Make your IG and website a space where the customer can come and feel the products through the computer/home with your imagery and videos. I offer imagery to all my retailers so they can up their website game,” she said.
