Share Your Story: Pigment&PaperCo.
A maker offering earth-friendly journals, giftwrap and greeting cards.
With so many retailers and makers facing similar challenges right now, we encourage you to Share Your Story with other independent retailers and creators in the industry.
Pigment&PaperCo. is a maker based in Canada that was founded by Meghan Thomas. “We use 100% post-consumer waste paper. That means it is manufactured with 100% recycled materials,” Thomas noted on its website.
With a focus on earth-friendly, Pigment&PaperCo. uses plant-based ink, and the paper it sources is created with wind energy. Its products, which range from giftwrap, greeting cards, and journals, are printed using Bullfrog Power green energy, and it utilizes Carbon Zero papers.
Business in the pandemic.
For now, Thomas is the only person on staff as this is a new, small business. During 2020, in the heart of the pandemic, she invested in a Shopify site to help promote product. Currently, she works with local retailers and even hand-delivers orders to them. This year, Thomas hopes to add a retailer/wholesale section to the Shopify platform as the business grows.
Buying Tip
Thomas shared her thoughts on sourcing: “Look locally for suppliers or check virtual shows for makers. There’s lots of talent out there!”
For now, she is still undecided if Pigment&PaperCo. will exhibit at any upcoming trade shows. For more information on this business, visit www.pigmentandpaperco.ca.
