Roman celebrates 60th anniversary in 2023

Roman will ring in the new year celebrating 60 years in the wholesale gift industry.

Roman was founded in 1963 by Ronald Jedlinski. He and his wife, Diane, started the business in the back of Ron’s father’s store, Roman’s Art and Gift Shop.

What began as a religious articles business grew to an award-winning manufacturer and distributor of Christmas items and inspirational products while still keeping its religious articles base. The company continues to be owned and operated with Ron and Diane’s daughter, Julie, and her husband, Dan Loughman, the current CEO and president, at the helm.

Roman aims to offer a unique selection of products that help people celebrate everyday joys and the special occasions in their lives. According to the company, it offers a variety of tools for retailers, including:

• Award-winning customer service
• Proprietary designs and exclusive licenses with exquisite detailing
• Annual Fontanini Personal Appearance tours with stops throughout the continental U.S.
• A wholesale website that includes the following features: shop by online catalog; place drop ship orders; view and pay invoices; download item/UPC info; item availability; and social media presence across a variety of platforms

“Julie and I are so grateful to have outstanding employees, loyal customers, effective sales representatives, long-standing suppliers and licensing partners, many of whom have been around for decades,” said Loughman. “A lot of smart, hard-working people have contributed to Roman’s success over the past 60 years.”

Roman will have showrooms at the Dallas, Atlanta and Las Vegas shows this January.
