Norman’s Hallmark raises $8,000 for children’s hospital fund

In conjunction with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Norman’s Hallmark customers and sales associates hosted its inaugural “Squish-a-Wish” fundraiser.

Norman’s Hallmark donated a portion of proceeds from every Squishmallows stuffed toy purchased in its stores and online during the 10-day event — for a total nearing $8,000 — to the CHOP Children’s Fund at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

“At Norman’s Hallmark, we’re passionate about partnering with organizations that share our commitment for bettering the health and well-being of children and families in our communities,” said Howard Henschel, president and CEO of Norman’s Hallmark. “CHOP is a vital local institution, and we are honored to support its ongoing mission for delivering high-quality, family-centered care. We’re also immensely grateful to our generous shoppers and store associates for making our ‘Squish-a-Wish’ event so impactful.”

Norman’s Hallmark also will be lending its support to the Big 98.1 Loves our Kids Radiothon by sponsoring one of the event’s “Power Hours.” Now in its 21st year, the two-day event — which takes place Dec. 8 and 9 — will raise funds to support the Child Life, Education & Creative Arts Therapy team at CHOP.

Norman’s offers a complete line of Hallmark products, cards for every occasion and Keepsake Ornaments, along with merchandise for gift-giving and the home that includes fashion apparel and accessories, books, stationery, games, home décor, specialty candy and gourmet foods. The company maintains supplier partnerships with brands such as Lenox, Yankee Candle, Life is Good, Willow Tree, Vera Bradley, Squishmallows, Mud Pie, David Bradley Chocolatier, Stonewall Kitchen and Godiva.

Norman’s Hallmark is employee-owned and operates nearly 70 locations. With roots dating back more than 80 years, Norman’s Hallmark has grown from a single retail store in Trenton, New Jersey. The Newtown, Pennsylvania-based company continues to grow its brick-and-mortar footprint throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the company says, and recently expanded into Delaware and northern Maryland.
