Las Vegas Market names ‘Market Pros’ for social media takeover
Representatives from four retail and design organizations, dubbed “Market Pros,” will take over the Las Vegas Market and Las Vegas Design Center’s social media accounts Jan. 29- Feb. 2, 2023.
“Industry associations and buying groups use Las Vegas Market to connect members with the right products to grow their businesses,” said Dorothy Belshaw, executive vice president and chief customer officer of International Market Centers (IMC). “This winter, Las Vegas Market buyers can tap into sourcing expertise of leading voices from these member-based organizations.”
The Market Pros represent the diversity of the buyers at Las Vegas Market, according to IMC. The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) promotes the profession of interior design. The Museum Store Association (MSA) advances the nonprofit retail community. National Kitchen + Bath Association (NKBA) promotes professionalism in the kitchen and bath industry. Zoo, Aquarium, Garden Buying Group (ZAG) raises awareness and professionalism of the retail field within the zoo and aquarium industry.
The Winter 2023 Market Pros are:
Sara Malek Barney, BANDD/DESIGN, representing ASID. Barney is an award-winning interior designer and real estate developer. Since 2017, her firm, BANDD/DESIGN, has successfully executed over 145 residential projects, many of which have been recognized and published around the world. In conjunction with her passion for interior design, she launched BANDD/DEVELOPMENT 2021 from a growing love for renovating and building beautiful homes throughout the Austin area and nationwide.
Some of her accolades include being named to the inaugural class of Fortune Magazine‘s Most Powerful Women {Next Gen}, one of Austin Monthly‘s Women to Watch for multiple years, a “Top 3” interior designer in the Austin area, and being nominated for an International Design & Architecture Award in 2019. Prior to launching BANDD/DESIGN, she worked as an executive at SXSW, Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Barney has degrees in Corporate Communication and Interior Design from the University of Texas. In addition to her membership in ASID, she is a member of the Female Founder Collective.
Gina D’Amore Bauerle, D’Amore Interiors, representing ASID and NKBA. Award-winning interior designer Bauerle is partner and principal interior designer at D’Amore Interiors in Denver. Since joining the family business 20 years ago as a teen, she has expanded its interior design services with projects throughout the nation. Her projects have been published numerous times in both regional and national publications.
She has been honored with more than 50 interior design awards, including 14 national awards from the NKBA and NAHB, and an international award from London-based design et al magazine, as well as being named “Top Five Under Forty” in 2020 by Colorado Homes & Lifestyles and “Forty Under 40” by Home Furnishings Business and winning “Best Overall Bath” at the NKBA National Design Competition. An alumna of Johnson & Wales University with business degrees in marketing and advertising, Bauerle pursued graduate studies at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for Interior Design. @designbossgina
Rosemary Domas, Bronx Zoo/ Wildlife Conservation Society, representing ZAG. Domas has been a buyer for the Wildlife Conservation Society in New York for the past five years, with responsibilities for Bronx Zoo, Central Park, Prospect Park, Queens Zoos and New York Aquarium at Coney Island. Additionally, she serves on the board of ZAG. Prior to the Wildlife Conservation Society, she worked in retail for Avon, Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy’s. @ZAGgift
Breegan Jane, Breegan Jane. As a Los Angeles-based interior designer, author, philanthropist and mom to two boys, Jane is a dynamic voice in the industry. She showcases her vast expertise building and designing homes as host of HGTV’s Dream Home, plus six additional Warner Brothers Discovery shows. As a leader in industry conversations, she participates regularly in speaker series events and champions the motherhood community as she shares her insight via her weekly blog on BreeganJane.com. Further expanding her reach and narrative, she advocates for women and children in Africa as a partner with international non-profit organization, World Vision. @breeganjane
Glen Peloso, Glen Peloso Design. Peloso is a celebrated designer, TV host, and the well-recognized as a design expert of The Marilyn Denis Show. Previously he was host/designer of the internationally popular HGTV shows Restaurant Makeover, Take This House and Sell it and Renovate My Wardrobe. As a design journalist, he contributes and has been profiled in many national and international magazines and television networks, including as design reporter for Your Morning CHCH, National Design Editor for Canadian Home Trends Magazine and Editor of Reno and Decor Magazine. He serves on the National Board of the Designer and Decorators Association and has successfully completed well over 400 projects including residential, hospitality and commercial spaces both locally and internationally since completing his Master’s Degree in Fine Art. Daniel Russo, Daniel Russo Home & The Design Exchange, representing ASID and NKBA. A social media influencer, Russo is part of the first all-digital generation of designers and is well-versed in today’s design technology and applications. He understands the balance between incorporating upcoming trends and a timeless perspective throughout all his designs, from space planning and lighting selection to material usage and variety. Based in Columbus, Ohio, he brings more than 20 years of experience to each of his projects. His designs have been published in numerous print publications, and his work has been exhibited at the Columbus Museum of Art and the Columbus Center for Science and Technology. Russo is also a regular contributor to regional TV programs. Kate N. Schureman, Peoria Riverfront Museum, representing MSA. Schureman has been with the Peoria Riverfront Museum in Peoria, Illinois, and its predecessor, Lakeview Museum of Arts and Sciences, for 25-plus years and currently serves as the museum’s vice president for special projects and CSO. She is responsible for visitor service, front-of-house earned revenue operations including the Museum Store, strategic planning, institutional evaluations, grants, government relations, reaccreditation and human resources. Before serving as the CSO, she served as the project manager for the opening of the $85 million Peoria Riverfront Museum.
Before officially joining the museum world, she worked for 7 years on Capitol Hill as a congressional aide for three members of the Illinois Congressional Delegation. She serves the museum field as the treasurer & second vice president of the Museum Store Association, is immediate past president of the Illinois Association of Museums, serves as an IMLS grant reviewer, and on the American Alliance of Museums Advocacy Committee. John McClain, John McClain Design representing ASID and NKBA. McClain is an accomplished interior designer, business coach, speaker, author and on-air contributor who has turned his lifetime passion for interior design into an opportunity to do the same for others. His projects have received numerous awards and have appeared in many publications including Traditional Home and Elle Décor, and his design advice can be seen regularly in print, on television and online in The Wall Street Journal, Martha Stewart Living, Apartment Therapy, Interior Design, Us Weekly and many more. Jay Thomson, Chrysler Museum of Art, representing MSA. Thomson is Museum Shop Manager for the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, Virginia. Previously, he was the Assistant Manager for Philadelphia’s Barnes Foundation Shop. Thomson has used his extensive experience in product development to enhance the Chrysler Museum Shop’s offerings with more merchandise that is inspired by the exhibitions and collection artworks on view. He holds a master’s degree in Fine Art with a concentration in Glass from Tyler School of Art and a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art with a concentration in Drawing and Painting from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. @MuseumStoreAssociation_org
