On March 1, 2019 LA Mart announced a strategic shift of its January and July Market dates for 2020. LA Mart’s 2020 Winter Market will move to Thursday, January 9 through Monday, January 13, 2020 and the 2020 Summer Market will shift to Thursday, July 9 through Monday, July 13. In conjunction, Temporaries will follow suit for each Market beginning Friday and concluding on Monday.

LA Mart created these new Market dates, as the first West Coast show of the year, due to a move by the Atlanta gift show that shifted its regular dates to a week later which is directly on top of the LA Mart’s traditional date patterns. In reaction to this unforeseen move, LA Mart recognized the buyer challenge and has accordingly scheduled this date change. “We surveyed our key customers and this date change works for them in that they will get to see the best of the best — first on the West Coast,” remarks Frank Joens Sr. VP, General Manager, LA Mart. “As always, our goal here is to maximize our buyer’s experience and to put them first. This date change achieves that objective.”

LA Mart’s “first look” dates will be an excellent opportunity for both exhibitors and sales reps to capture the season’s fresh dollars all the while offering buyers the earliest access to new products and the first opportunity to restock their inventory.

LA Mart will continue to produce their markets in the conveniently located and freeway adjacent downtown LA location with the all of the amenities that buyers have come to expect. And, of course, temporaries will be abundant in both the order writing and cash and carry categories. Free parking, hotel shuttles, happy hours as well as travel assistance programs will continue to help provide the most efficient enjoyable shopping experience available.
