Dallas Total Home & Gift Market releases details for summer show

Dallas Market Center announced preliminary details for the summer edition of Total Home & Gift Market, June 23-29, 2021. The first market of the summer will present dozens of new showrooms across all major product categories and an expanded marketplace of Temps as well as inspiring displays and events to help retail decision makers fill depleted inventories.

“Only in Dallas this summer will retailers have the first opportunity to review new products and the latest trends then place orders first,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “Confidence is high as the number of buyers choosing Dallas as their exclusive market destination continues to climb and as more brands join the most dynamic marketplace in the U.S. We are confident that the June show will help buyers easily, efficiently, and safely discover what they need to help their business thrive.”

Pre-registration, which is the exclusive method to receive the FastPass for contactless entry, is now available at dallasmarketcenter.com.

Applications & Registrations

From all 50 states, the number of buyers applying to visit Dallas Market Center continues to reach new heights. New buyer applications and registration is up more than 50% over previous years, with the strongest gains coming from businesses located outside of the market center’s immediate geographic region.

This surge in new customers is driven by one main factor: retailers are seeking a single destination to accomplish their complete in-person buying needs. After 19 years attending other markets, Molly Egbert of the Tin Roof in Princeton, Kentucky recently became a Dallas buyer: “This was not the year that you would typically take a risk, but … it was majorly beneficial.”

Showroom Details

Dozens of new and expanding showrooms will cut the ribbon and welcome customers during the show. A complete list is forthcoming. Among more than 1,000 permanent showrooms, from gift and home, housewares and gourmet, holiday and floral to lighting and fashion, the marketplace is making final arrangements for new brands to join and long-time partners to expand.

Among the new showrooms meeting the demand for artisan and one-of-a-kind items is American Made Collective, debuting in Trade Mart 2901 with original art from four creative companies whose products are all made in the U.S. Among the expanding showrooms is Unique Loom, which is almost doubling its square footage in the Interior Home + Design Center (IHDC 1D114). “Due to the increased demand for the presence of our one-of-a-kind rugs in Dallas, we are thrilled to reveal our expansion with DMC,” said a company representative.

Gourmet and Housewares News

During the June show, GC Buying Group will hold its Member Conference at Dallas Market Center. The annual event draws retailers from across the country to review new products from leading vendors with the company principals, network among peers, and experience presentations from business and industry experts.

The Vendor Showcase will return with a broad range of products for the home—from gadgets to fine cookware to the latest in kitchen electrics. Also returning for June is the Gourmet Gold Specialty Food Awards, the program recognizing exceptional makers in the gourmet products industry who exhibit in Dallas. Details to be announced in the coming weeks.

The HEARTS Awards

For this year only, Dallas Market Center and ART, the creative home furnishings network, have replaced the annual ARTS Awards with The HEARTS Awards, an event celebrating and honoring those who showed outstanding leadership during the pandemic. Uniting multiple industries for the first time, the invitation-only event on June 25 hosted by Carson Kressley and Thom Filicia will pay homage to 13 “hearts and heroes” of 2020-2021.

Health & Safety

Supporting the comfort, health and safety of all attendees, the market center continues measures that include mandatory face covering and temperature screening for every person entering the marketplace every day. Other efforts include enhanced cleaning with hospital grade products, hundreds of hand sanitizing stations, limited food service, no gatherings, and signage for social distancing.

Along with these new steps, there are safety measures that are part of the design of the marketplace: open parking, large entryways, quick registration in multiple areas, wide hallways, multiple escalators to each floor, and showrooms with controlled access to allow for the appropriate distance between customers.

Hotel Information

Dallas Market Center partner hotels are offering new, lower rates to support buyer travel budgets. Dozens of hotels, many within walking distance of the campus, are offering updated rates as low as $115. Rates valid until 2 weeks prior to Market, based on availability and are subject to change at any time so please reach out to Market Travel online or by calling 214-744-7444.
