Share Your Story: FNIC Designs
A business launched during the pandemic to bring cheer and color.
With so many retailers and makers facing similar challenges right now, we encourage you to Share Your Story help other independent retailers and creators in the industry.
FNIC Designs, a stationery company based in the United Kingdom was created by Nicola Joseph, a first-time mother who earnestly launched the business during the pandemic lockdown. Her mission was to offer colorful cards “to bring cheer to this gloomy climate and who doesn’t love a big dollop of color.”
“The pandemic has actually allowed me to open my business. Whilst being forced to stay at home with my baby I have somehow found the drive to pursue my passion and start designing,” Joseph shared.
Her work is primarily baby-themed, but she will incorporate “ethnic (FNIC) inspired designs” as well. “Culture should be embraced no matter where you are from,” Joseph explained.
FNIC Designs offers customers the ability to send cards directly to the recipients. “Customers can choose to have their cards hand written by me and sent directly to their friends and loved ones,” she said.
Currently, she does not have a brick-and-mortar location, but instead offers her products on Etsy and through Instagram.
Joseph shared some tips with Stationery Trends: “Buy from small businesses where you can. So many people have lost jobs and have uncertain futures a small purchase can mean the world to many!”
