Keynote Speaker named for London Stationery Show

Rebecca Saunders, head of development at leading online retailer notonthehighstreet.com, which offers consumers a curated product selection with unique designs and high quality craftsmanship, will be the keynote retail speaker at this month’s London Stationery Show, on Wednesday, April 27.

This special event will mark the second World Stationery Day, part of the wider consumer National Stationery Week campaign, which notonthehighstreet.com is supporting.

“Stationery is a large and fast growing category at notonthehighstreet.com; we’re a destination for bespoke ranges such as wedding stationery and decorations and are continuing to grow our core stationery ranges such as notebooks, diaries, cards and wrapping. Our customers choose stationery as an extension of their style and personality so sourcing unique designs from small creative stationers really appeals to them,” said Saunders.

Her presentation will take a look at how stationery fits into the notonthehighstreet.com offer, its increasing popularity as Partners – typically smaller creative manufacturers – respond to consumer demand for innovative and personalised options for how they make notes and share the written word.  Rebecca will also share insights into stationery styles and current trends.

In addition, continuing what he started at last year’s show, Phil Pond of trend forecasters Scarlet Opus, will present an update on current and future global trends.

Scarlet Opus works with companies and organisations to share their research on consumer and design trends. Trend translator Phil explains how trends start, how they are tracked and the practical ways in which knowing about them can affect how products are presented – for suppliers and retailers.

For example, at last year’s show, Pond highlighted several trends which have been supported by new product launches this year.  Stunning use of metallics by Castelli for its ‘Black and Gold’ collection and from Charfleet Bindery both illustrate a trend identified by Scarlet Opus as ‘Edited Luxury’, whilst new designs from Mustard and Portico Designs with their use of tropical colours and pineapples flag up the ‘Rio16’ trend which will peak this summer alongside the Olympics.  All these companies and their on trend products can be seen at the show.

Both presentations will take place at the show on the morning of Wednesday, April 27.  Detailed timings will be confirmed nearer to the show and seats will be on a first come, first served basis.
