Young Bushey brothers launch stationery collection to help the needy

After watching a documentary about children living in poverty, Bushey brothers Joe and Sam Pressinger were moved to help.

The boys, aged 12 and nine, had no idea families struggled to buy basic items such as pens and pencils for school, let alone fun stationery for play.

They decided to gather unused stationery from friends and family and set up Stationery Moving to donate the items to those in need.

Marc Pressinger, their father, said: “They felt so many people must have drawers full of stationery which would be great for people who do not.”

The St John’s School Northwood pupils secured the support of their headmaster, who arranged collection points on the premises and appealed for support from other students.

WH Smith and Rymans have also donated stationery and Barnardo’s will be promoting the venture and stationery can be dropped off at its North-West London shops.

Mr Pressinger added: “We will be processing all donated stationery to ensure it is safe, and then collate sets with a little packet of sweeties ready for a new home.”
