Shoppe Object shares details for its summer market

Shoppe Object, a curated home and gift trade show, is set to host its seventh market this summer, bringing its unique assortment of both seminal design brands and up-and-coming makers to Pier 36 in New York City, Aug. 14-16. The 400+ brand roster includes over 100 new-to-Shoppe Object exhibitors, many of whom show exclusively in the U.S. at Shoppe Object.

“All our hard work towards community-building is really coming to fruition, and we’re heading into this summer’s market experiencing unprecedented demand. We’ve grown consistently since our launch four years ago, and at a pretty remarkable clip, but this feels different,” Jesse James, founder and creative director said. “We’ve been sold out since the beginning of May, a good three-and-a-half months before the show, and we’re quite literally packed to the gills in an effort to accommodate as many quality brands as possible. It’s going to be an exciting summer market, and all of this bodes well for our plans for expansion in winter.”

Summer Market Highlights

Highlights for the summer’s show floor include a new cohort of brands from the Black Lives Matter Action Initiative (BLMAI), growth of the curated wellness, beauty and gourmet section, and the return of much-missed international brands to the live show.

Show-goers can expect better-than-ever perks: free breakfast for visitors and exhibitors all three mornings of the show and a celebratory after-hours boat party for the whole community. Additionally, a show-stopping exterior installation by The Color Condition and this summer’s Artist of the Season will brighten and elevate the visual mood at Pier 36.

Among the new brands at the market are ten chosen for Shoppe Object’s Black Lives Matter Action Initiative, now in its third season. In a step toward creating a better and more equitable home and gift industry, a cohort of Black-owned brands are selected and sponsored each season from a pool of applicants to exhibit at Shoppe Object. Selected brands span home and gift’s categories, including home fragrance, wellness, tabletop, textiles, stationery and accessories, and hail from cities across the United States and abroad.

Many international companies are also returning to Shoppe Object this summer with the continued lifting of pandemic-related business limitations. Two exciting pavilions – Showcase Japan and Design Ireland – will return with a combined 30 curated brands.

As consumer interest in wellness products continues, the summer edition of Shoppe Object also will feature an expanded presentation of NOURISH, a special section of the latest discoveries in wellness, beauty and gourmet curated by Dr. Maria Geyman — Vogue contributor, board-certified naturopathic doctor, and the founder of Masha Tea. Notable brands include Mater Soap, MOTHER shrub, REMIX by Giselle Wasfie, and many more.

The casual, friendly environment offers an opportunity to connect and mingle ahead of a busy day.

Jojo Feld, the newest addition to the Shoppe Object team, is focusing on further improving digital engagement and the Shoppe Online experience for the entire community.

“In these months leading up to the Shoppe Object show, we’re polishing our digital platform, Shoppe Online, and making sure our community fully understands its benefits and direct integration with the physical market. From quick-and-easy buyer registration, to order drafts and placement, to exhibitor ROI tracking, Shoppe Online is host to a slew of tools that deliver a contemporary approach to the B2B market,” Feld said.
