Paisley Gifts & Stationery in Boonsboro reopens after car crashes through store

Paisley Gifts & Stationery in the Boonsboro Shopping Center reopened Wednesday after closing Tuesday for cleanup and inventory after a car crashed through the store Monday.

According to the Lynchburg Police Department, the “driver accidentally drove through the glass” after hitting the gas pedal instead of the brake around 1:40 p.m. Monday. Because the police report was not complete, police could not answer questions Tuesday about injuries or charges resulting from the wreck.

According to employees Stella Boley and Katy Keller, the car broke a window near the register and kept going until hitting the opposite wall. Skid marks were still on the carpet Tuesday afternoon.

According to store manager Sarah Welfare, glass from the window flew all over the store, but no one in the store was injured as a result of the wreck.

Every employee of the store was called in to help with the cleaning, she said.
