GCA Selects Universal Presentation Concepts to Create LOUIE Awards Exhibit

The Greeting Card Association (GCA) announced its selection of Universal Presentation Concepts (UPC) to create the exhibit for visitors to experience the 27th LOUIE Awards.

The 27th LOUIE Awards Exhibit shines a spotlight on 2014's best cards in the greeting card and social-expression industry from card publishers throughout the world and will be featured at the National Stationery Show (NSS) from May 17-20, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

“We are delighted to partner with UPC on our signature LOUIE Awards Exhibit,” said GCA President Steve Doyal. “Given UPC's talent, ingenuity and expertise, we know they will provide a space that will showcase the creativity of the LOUIE Award finalists and winners and offer a welcoming environment for show attendees and GCA members. It will be a great way for consumers to get up close to the best of the best in the LOUIE Awards competition.”

The 27th LOUIE Awards Exhibit will be located in the Crystal Palace section of the Javits Center, where both NSS attendees as well as consumers can visit and take in the artistry of the more than 160 finalist cards.

NSS attracts nearly 10,000 buyers from a variety of retailers including: stationery, card and gift shops; bookstores; bridal shops; party stores; department, chain and specialty stores; large chains and “big box stores;” and online and mail order catalogs. Approximately 900 exhibitors participate from over 20 countries including Australia, Argentina, China, India, Israel and Italy.

“The GCA's decision to partner with us this year speaks to our strong track record of creating engaging exhibits and displays,” said Dan Levine, director of marketing, UPC. “We are excited to work with the GCA team to create another eye-catching and entertaining exhibit to highlight the industry-leading LOUIE Awards,” he said.

The LOUIE Awards call for entry will open on Sept. 26, with submissions accepted until Dec. 5. Judging will take place in early February, coinciding with NYNow in New York City, with finalists announced in mid-February. Winners will be announced and celebrated at the LOUIE Awards Gala on May 17, on the opening night of the National Stationery Show in New York City.
