Dallas Market Center reopens to buyers
Dallas Market Center, the lifestyle marketplace in North America and a hub of daily commerce for retailers and interior designers, has reopened to buyers. Details regarding the reopening and the rigorous health and safety measures now in place are available on the front page of the company’s website.
The company previously announced a shift of its summer Total Home & Gift Market to Aug. 19-25 directly preceded by August Apparel & Accessories Market, KidsWorld, and Dallas Western Market, which are keeping their original dates of Aug. 25-28.
In addition to the August events, earlier summer buying events will offer retailers the opportunity to make appointments and place orders for immediate delivery items as well as fall and holiday delivery products to help refresh shelves and entice customers back into the store. The complete events schedule is posted on the company’s website and includes appointment-driven, limited exhibitor Open House events as well as markets.
“In advance of last week’s announcement by the Texas governor regarding reopening the state to business, including a phased approach to opening retail, we were putting in place strict safeguards to support a healthy, secure, and socially distant marketplace. We are confident in the strong measures we have enacted in partnership with our exhibitors. The marketplace is undergoing daily cleaning with hospital grade disinfectants; hand sanitizer is widely available at dedicated stations in all neighborhoods; and our staff are masked, have been trained regarding social distancing, and are being regularly screened for illness. We are ready when the buyers are ready—and while we know that might take some time, we are confident in our ability to balance good health and good business.”
In addition to these measures there are also natural design features of the Dallas Market Center campus that promote minimal contact and social distancing: open parking, large entryways, quick registration in multiple areas, multiple sets of escalators in each building, wide hallways, and showrooms with controlled access to allow for the appropriate distance between customers.
Buyers are highly encouraged to call ahead to make appointments with showrooms. While on campus, visitors should always follow the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control regarding good hygiene, sanitation, and social distancing. Those details are available on the CDC website.
In accordance with Governor Abbott’s Texans Helping Texans: The Governor’s Report To Open Texas, specific guidelines for the operation of Dallas Market Center buildings have been enacted and are available on Dallas Market Center’s website in the COVID-19 Resource Center: In Good Company. Of special note: while the sundry shop is open food service and valet will open at a later date.
