Creative Co-Op opens larger showroom at DMC in January

Dallas Market Center and Creative Co-Op announced the expansion and re-imagination of Creative Co-Op’s Dallas showroom in Trade Mart 2802. The new space will be the largest Dallas presentation of Creative Co-Op products in the company’s history.

Creative Co-Op will host a grand opening at the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market, Jan. 4-10, the first gift and home trade event of 2023 in North America.

“An expanded Creative Co-Op is important to our customers for many reasons,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “They offer well-designed products, emphasize quality, and deliver an unmatched passion for the customer. We are pleased that they have deepened their commitment to our marketplace, and we look forward to celebrating with them in January.”

Showroom Expansion

Upon arrival at the showroom, buyers will be greeted with a new visual experience. Inside, the space will unite the Creative Co-Op, Bloomingville and Illume divisions into one destination. The spacious showroom will be expertly merchandised by brand experience, with an emphasis on new products and collections including an expanded seasonal presentation. Hospitality and reception space will be included. The showroom will be open to the adjacent Expo space, allowing for a more open flow and a modern shopping experience.

“This is a unique opportunity to deliver a higher quality presentation of our product to our loyal Dallas Market retailers through better visual merchandising, seamless shopping experience, and our exciting new product category expansion for January 2023. As well, we are pleased to deepen our long-term investment in the Dallas marketplace, Garry Schermann,” senior vice president of sales for Creative Co-Op, said. “Dallas continues to be a huge benefit for both retailer and supplier through its unique combination of customers: loyal buyers from the region, increasing numbers of buyers from coast to coast, and new buyers attending events throughout the year. It is a wise move to invest with partners like DMC who are making every effort to better serve the retailer community.”

The January 2023 edition of Dallas Total Home & Gift Market will welcome retailers and interior designers from all 50 states as well as international buyers from Canada, Central America, South America, and beyond. New buyer applications at Dallas Market Center remain at record levels and attendance also continues to widen geographically: buyers from the southeast have increased 29%, the midwest increased 7%, and the west increased 7% in 2022.

The June 2022 Total Home & Gift Market featured more than 40 new and expanding permanent exhibitors and hundreds of new Temps inside a completely re-designed and re-merchandised Temps at Total Home & Gift Market.

Recent buyer surveys show the Dallas is the preferred market for more retailers seeking a single location to efficiently source new products across lifestyle categories including gift, home, lighting, gourmet and housewares, seasonal, apparel and fashion accessories. These buyers attend any number of trade events throughout the year as well as visit the hundreds of open-daily Design showrooms.

Buying Power

In addition to thousands of independent retailers attending Dallas shows, the buying power from major stores and buying groups adds to the marketplace energy and commerce. Recent attendees include Tuesday Morning, Dillard’s, Michael’s Stores, The Container Store, Buc-ees, At Home, JC Penney, Neiman Marcus, AAFES, World Market, Kohls, Albertsons, Brookshire Grocery, United Supermarkets, Big Lots, Boot Barn, Halls, Hobby Lobby, Maurices, Joanns, The Paper Store, Universal Direct, Gelson’s Markets, HEB/Central Market Grocery Stores, Southwest Buying Group, MAI, Palmer Marketing, Brixy, and HTI plus the team from Oprah’s Favorite Things.
