Atlanta Apparel kicks off 2020 with a new date pattern

Atlanta Apparel showcases a new date pattern, product offerings and buyer programming at its first market of the year, Jan. 28 through Feb. 1, 2020. Additionally, the market starts a new date pattern with a five-day market for showrooms and three-day market for temporaries. Top men’s offerings add to the women’s Spring / Summer 2020 and Children’s Autumn 2020 / Winter 2021 collections shown in more than 500 showrooms and temporaries.

Complementing these updates is the launch of a new year-long education series designed to prepare retailers for the new decade.

“The January Atlanta Apparel Market is an opportunity for fashion retailers to position themselves for success in the new year and the new decade,” said Bob Maricich, CEO of Atlanta Apparel producer International Market Centers (IMC). “This market’s trend-driven products ensure retailers will have the right merchandise for success, while our new programming series provides actionable insights for growing and improving their businesses in 2020 and beyond.”

New and expanded showrooms

Atlanta Apparel’s showroom collection expands with six new and expanded showrooms opening at the January 2020 Market. Four new showrooms are Erimish, Goods & Services, Inspire Designs and Tribal. Additionally, Katie Loxton expands its space and Kendra Scott adds a second location.

New opportunities for Spring /Summer 2020: Men’s and Mommy and Me

Many women’s brands plan to show their men’s and children’s styles this January. These product categories expand the Atlanta Apparel market offerings.

“Year-over-year and market-over-market we are seeing more and more brands expanding beyond women’s apparel,” reported Caron Stover, senior vice president of IMC’s Apparel Tradeshows. “They are bringing their men’s and children’s collections and finding success with retailers who are looking to grow their businesses and product mix.”

More than 40 brands are showing men’s collections in January including Hudson Jeans, J Brand, Mod Ref, Southern Marsh, Spring Footwear and more. Children’s clothing, shoes and accessories, including popular “mommy and me” collections, are shown by more than 50 women’s brands like Gretchen Scott, Hatley, Saint James, Southern Grace and more.

Children’s showrooms and temporaries present Autumn 2020 / Winter 2021 styles

New styles for Autumn 2020 / Winter 2021 are in debut in Atlanta Apparel’s children’s collection. In January, the market’s array of permanent showrooms, which are open during each apparel market, are augmented by children’s temporaries for the first of two times this year.

“Moving forward, temporary children’s exhibitors will augment the permanent showrooms when the seasons launch, which is in January and August,” said Linda Upchurch, leasing director for children’s and gift for IMC. “The move allows retailers to explore the full range of styles when it will have the most impact for their businesses.”

The children’s collection features more than 80 showrooms and temporaries showing nearly 900 top lines of clothing, specialty items and products to meet the everyday needs of children’s buyers. Highlights of the collection include AppamanKissy KissyLivie and LucaPPLAWee Ones and more.

Trends from the children’s collection are showcased on the Atrium runway in the Sips & Snaps fashion event on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 3 p.m.
