Atlanta Apparel forecasts spring/summer 2020 trends

Atlanta Apparel’s forecast of style trends – an overall feminine undertone with ladylike styles that shift away from casual streetwear – for the Spring/Summer 2020 season will be showcased at the October Atlanta Apparel Market set for Oct. 15-19, 2019, at AmericasMart Atlanta.

“With the change in seasons, we are seeing a major shift in the cuts, color palette and overall styling of women’s apparel going into Spring/Summer 2020,” said Morgan Ramage, fashion director for Atlanta Apparel. “We’re helping buyers embrace this new direction and find key styles, items and colors by exploring and showcasing these trends in different ways throughout the market. Trend education is at the forefront of the market this October and buyers will find valuable insights at every turn.”

With more than 700 brands showing season debuts plus the largest collection to date of footwear exhibitors, the October Atlanta Apparel Market presents a wide range of lines from which retailers can source the styles and trends they need for the next season. Fashion presentations and runway events give buyers tangible references for the season’s must-have items while educational panels give them actionable tips for growing their businesses.

The more than 300 women’s and children’s showrooms open for the market are highlighted by 12 new, expanded, relocated and renewed showrooms. Each of Atlanta Apparel’s seven temporary categories have exhibitors at the market, totaling some 400 brands.

The market’s signature runway event features more than 80 looks on Thursday, Oct. 17. Additional runway events include Sips & Snaps live photoshoots featuring shoes, new exhibitors and resort lines plus sponsored Runway Reviews. Multiple fashion vignettes include a presentation of the top trends as well as a showcase of brands from the Montréal Collections which promotes Montréal’s fashion industry and celebrates the creative talents of its designers and clothing manufacturers.

Trendsetters are celebrated at the market as Atlanta Apparel hosts the inaugural Influencer Awards, celebrating the South’s top fashion and lifestyle influencers. Four of the winners share what is trending for Spring/Summer 2020 and why they are excited about what is to come in a panel discussion on Thursday, Oct. 17.

Other educational programming includes a Q&A discussion with Neely Powell, founder and owner of Charleston Shoe Co., on Wednesday, Oct. 16 and an educational seminar focused on Six Essential Elements for a Winning Independent Retail Strategy presented by Paul Erickson, director of sales & marketing for Management One, Inc. on Friday, Oct. 18.

The October Atlanta Apparel Market runs Oct. 15 through Oct. 19, 2019, with temporaries open Wednesday, Oct. 18 through Friday, Oct. 18, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 19, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
