An inside look at Paperworld 2020

{Sponsored} For four days each year, the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre in Frankfurt, Germany, is transformed into a trend and business platform, filled with vendors offering visitors views of the latest in market trends and the world’s widest range of the latest products in commercial office supplies. For many in the stationery industry, Paperworld is considered to be a highlight of the trade show season and a valuable source of innovative, trend-forward business ideas.

Tens of thousands of visitors and a large and diverse set of exhibitors from more than 60 countries will descend upon Frankfurt, Germany, for Paperworld 2020. Kicking off the trade show season for the stationery and office industries on Jan. 25-28, 2020, the upcoming event will focus largely on the future in trends taking center stage — more specifically, the “visionary office” and “stationery trends.”

“For 2020, we expect about 1,500 exhibitors to come to Frankfurt,” said Michael Reichhold, the event director at Paperworld. “This shows how important Paperworld is as an international platform for the sector, as it offers new impulses and valuable business opportunities to manufacturers and small buyers.”

Paperworld, one of the largest trade fairs in its sector, boasts a high rate of diversity among its participants, sporting an “internationality rating” — the percentage of international visitors in attendance — of nearly 82% exhibitors and visitors traveling in from abroad, bringing with them various geographical and regional styles and trends.

“This ensures that the exhibitors can get to know many new (demographics) in Frankfurt and make new business contacts,” Reichhold added.

On the “stationery trends” side of the new offerings, products utilized for gift giving, packaging and celebrations will be highlighted — everything from paperware and napkins, to greeting cards and table decorations. Vendors and exhibitors such as Hallmark Cards, Paper + Design, Francesco Brizzolari and more will present their unique takes on what’s up-and-coming in the stationery industry.

The “visionary office” offerings will take a look at the latest innovations in commercial office supplies, while simultaneously looking at the smart office solutions of the future. From office machines to writing and drawing instruments, every product segment of what makes a visionary “office of tomorrow” will be on display for visualization. In the “Future Office” hall, displays and sessions will focus on digital networking solutions and how to correctly deal with the technical possibilities.

“Many events in the complimentary program get a new direction every year,” Reichhold added, when speaking on the new offerings at Paperworld in 2020. “If you are looking for inspiration today to be successful in the future, Paperworld is an indispensable trade fair where visitors can see a unique breadth and depth of products.”

Returning for a second year also is the “Future Learning” impulse area, which will present visitors with current and future-oriented learning concepts, with a strong emphasis on lifelong learning — utilizing everything from virtual reality to assist learning, to some of the latest innovations and modernization in the stationery sector.

It’s these opportunities to learn more about the office and stationery trends of the future that Reichhold says makes Paperworld an ideal platform and event for any business in the industry.

“Paperworld brings people together from all over the world and into a personal conversation,” Reichhold added. “They can compare, experience products live, make international contacts … we consider this to be very important, since we want to represent the developments taking place in the sector in order to provide future-based incentives for the industry. Demonstrating new approaches, looking to the future and conveying sector expertise — that is what we want to represent.”
