Thinking of You Week begins September 21

Greeting Card Association (GCA) is ready for the Thinking of You Week, which runs Sep. 21-27, 2020. GCA released the following statement regarding this annual event:

“We are excited that retailers around the world are supporting the week with events in their store, and once again our partners Paper Source and the USPS are participating!

Starting September 15th through September 27th, Paper Source will be offering exciting discounts and promotions on cards and other supplies, some available online only, others online, and in stores! Keep an eye out for their social media posts and emails with details. In-store associates will be wearing an “Ask me about Thinking of You Week” badge. They are starting early so consumers can stock up on supplies the week before and be ready with everything they need to connect with friends and family when the Big Week hits!

In addition to the postmark the USPS is using to cancel all first-class mail this month, they are about to roll out a Thinking of You Week video in Post Offices across the country – stay tuned for more news about this! A HUGE thank you to Kelly Ricker and her team at American Greetings for making this happen.

I’d also like to share with you a video the UK G.C.A. put together How to say Thinking of You! which appears on their website and social media, and will also be posted by the Royal Mail.

Add the Thinking of You Week banner to your emails and logo to your posts for the week to help raise awareness. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s creative posts next week tagging @thinkingofyouweek on Instagram. Please help us to keep the momentum going by sending a card a day “just because”. And while you have your cards, pens, and stamps out, think about our nursing home residents who would so love to hear that someone is thinking of them, and the health workers who are still, after all these months, working long days and nights to help keep us safe.

Join us for this week’s GCA Town Hall on Wednesday, September 16th at 2 pm ET, when we will spend a few minutes writing cards to get the ball rolling – be ready with your supplies! Please email Amanda Bignall at [email protected] for the Zoom information.

Take Care!”
