NY NOW “Made in USA” Display Features Nearly 100 Products

With strong representation across three collections and eight categories, 99 products have been selected to be showcased in the “Made in the USA” display at the winter 2015 edition of NY NOW, the Market for Home & Lifestyle, to be held Jan. 31-Feb. 4 at New York's Jacob K. Javits Center. The exhibit was curated for the first time by representatives of Craft Retailers & Artists for Tomorrow (CRAFT), an association of galleries, shops and artists dedicated to promoting American-made craft.

Of the 236 products submitted for review, 99 products from 25 states were accepted for display. Of the nearly 100 selections, 24 were factory-produced and 75 were handmade, a distinction which will be called out in the onsite exhibit with special “Made in the USA” and “Handmade in the USA” logos.

“This was a challenging assignment because so many entries were of such high quality, using great materials and inspired design,” said Diane Sulg, president of CRAFT. “Many makers are focused on using great ingredients in their products, so many of the accepted products are natural, locally sourced, sustainable, eco-friendly and even recycled.”
