NSS to Launch Mobile Application

The National Stationery Show (NSS) will launch its first mobile application, designed to help attendees of the May 15-18, 2011 event navigate the Show more efficiently. The application, developed by Whereoware, allows users to instantly search for exhibitors or products by name, product line, product category, or description with real-time results including company names and booth locations.

“This mobile application is the latest of many resources the NSS offers to ensure buyers make the best use of their time on the Show floor,” said Patti Stracher, show manager. “Within seconds, retailers now have an organized list of exhibitors specific to their needs literally at their fingertips.”

Other features of the NSS mobile app include the complete seminar schedule, special events, shuttle bus schedule and the floorplan. In addition, it connects to attendees’ online Walking List, which can be created pre-Show using the NSS exhibitor and product search feature available at http://search.nationalstationeryshow.com/mobile.aspx.

“We’re excited to be working with GLM to build mobile apps that improve the attendee experience at the Show and help them quickly find booths, exhibitors and products,” said Eric Dean, president of Whereoware. “The NSS attendee base has already proven to be adept at using digital tools to help their business, as shown by the success of the online product search feature and Online Catalog Gallery. As smart phones and iPad usage grows, it is natural to offer the same tools on mobile.”

The application is compatible with Android, iPhone and Blackberry devices, and can be used in Airplane mode, eliminating the need for Wi-Fi. It is available for download beginning May 1, through iTunes and http://search.nationalstationeryshow.com/mobile.aspx.

The 65th annual National Stationery Show, the comprehensive source for greeting cards, social stationery and related lifestyle products, will run Sunday, May 15, through Wednesday, May 18, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. For more information, visit www.nationalstationeryshow.com.
