London show expands stationery awards categories
Each year Stationery Show London plays host to the Stationery Awards. For 2019, the Stationery Awards will be bigger than ever evolving into a standalone event but still taking place on the first evening of the Stationery Show London.
This ceremony will see the introduction of new retailer categories for the first time. The Stationery Awards aim to recognize and benchmark good practice and innovation in the retail stationery sector. The new retailer categories are:
- Best Customer Experience Initiative (In-Store or Online)
- Best POS/Merchandised Display of Stationery
- New Store of the Year
- Best Specialist Stationery Retailer
- Best Non-Specialist Retailer
Entries for the retailer categories are due by Feb. 15.
The show is also introducing the Stationery Designer of the Year award, sponsored by UK manufacturer Go Stationery. This design competition is a unique opportunity for budding stationery designers to work with an experienced production and sales team and see their ideas taken into production and delivered to retailers throughout the UK. Entries for the designer category are due Feb. 28.
Entries for the supplier categories must have been launched to the trade since May 2018. Entries must be completed online by Friday, March 29, with products delivered to the Ocean Media Group office no later than Monday, April 1.

- Writing Instruments (over £25 RRP)
- Novelty Stationery
- Social Stationery (Writing paper, envelopes, notecards, invitations)
- Notebooks & Journals
- Licensed Stationery
- Filing & Storage
- Desk Accessories
- Gift Packaging & Wrap
- Good Design Award
All entries will be assessed by relevant industry judges and shortlisted companies will have the opportunity to publicly showcase their teams’ skills and hard work. Winners will be announced at the Awards Evening on Tuesday, April 30.
