LA Mart adds Designer Week to Spring Market

The LA Mart Spring Market has always been a convenient and productive time for retailers to stock their shelves with seasonal holiday gifts and décor from Mother’s day to Christmas but buyers will have even more reasons to block their calendar. The Spring Market at the LA Mart, from Sunday through Tuesday, March 29-31, brings two new events this season: a seminar by Chelsea Iovino’s seminar and Designer Week.

Hands-on presentation on merchandising basics by Chelsea Iovino: March 30

Chelsea Iovino, executive creative director of Black Bird Creative, will give a free hands-on presentation on merchandising basics and how to start a visual trend for the 21st century. The hour-long seminar is packed with rich information including the rules of display basics, creative and budget-friendly strategies for merchandising and how to stay current in today’s fast-moving visual world with apps like Instagram, Pinterest and Tumblr which are all the rage. Attendees will have a chance to win a free consultation package with Iovino.

The seminar takes place from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 30, on the ninth floor. Buyers interested in attending can reserve their spot by emailing [email protected].

Designer Week is March 29–April 3

Also happening during the LA Spring Market is Designer Week from Sunday through Friday, March 29-April 3. During Designer Week, buyers will be able to preview and purchase spring and summer’s latest furniture designs while taking advantage of a Design Center-wide sample sale offering indoor and outdoor furniture, bedding, upholstery, art, rugs, lighting, decorative accessories and more at a savings of 40 to 70 percent off.

In addition to the stellar resources, a dozen showrooms have been added or expanded in time for the spring market including: Be Home, Kiss That Frog, Steven Anthony, Out of Asia, Dossage, Good Life Root, Glazier Candle Company, Jiling Trading Worldwide, Sunstar, Lorraine Bozeman, Urban Colony and The Cozy Nomad.

“We know our buyers don’t come to the LA Mart just for merchandise,” said Frank Joens, Sr. Vice President and General Manager of the LA Mart. “They return market after market because of their experience. We continue to seek ways to make buyers feel like the LA Mart is their home and whether they come during markets or between shows, five days a week, we want them to know they’ll always find something new and exciting in a welcoming environment.”

Upcoming LA Marts include March 29-31 (Spring), July 15-20 (Summer) and Sept. 27-29 (Fall). To learn more, visit LAMart.com.
