Keep US Posted celebrates Mother’s Day with members of Congress

Keep US Posted celebrated Mother’s Day by giving out more than 1,000 cards for members of Congress and staff to mail, compared to the 800 last year.

Greeting Card Association (GCA) representatives put 400 cards in the mail for mothers, grandmothers, wives, cousins, friends and more, said Rafe Morrissey, GCA’s vice president of public affairs.

“Our turnout from members exceeded last year, and we were honored to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the USPS with a Benjamin Franklin interpreter and House Government Operations Subcommittee Chairman, Pete Sessions (R-TX) who, together, cut a ceremonial birthday cake,” Morrissey said.

Congressional attendees included:

  • Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO)
  • Rep. Derek Schmitt (R-MO)
  • Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA)
  • Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX)
  • Rep. Scott Peters (D-CA)
