High Point Market properties refreshed, updated ahead of show

International Market Centers’ (IMC) made 13 more updates to its High Point properties across five buildings – 200 North Hamilton, Historic Market Square, Market Square Tower, Plaza Suites and Showplace – for the April 22-26 High Point Market.

IMC previously announced 31 other updates in the International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC) and InterHall that refresh the furniture and accessories destination.

“Strategic updates throughout IMC’s High Point portfolio are allowing us to offer leading furniture and décor brands the spaces they need to showcase even more product to the High Point Market buying community,” said Dorothy Belshaw, IMC executive vice president and chief growth officer. “Brands like Hooker Furnishings, Dovetail, Legends Furniture and more now have the room to create compelling brand presentations for these discerning buyers.”

Showplace refresh

Spring 2023 is the kickoff of a strategic resource refresh in Showplace – a major destination at High Point Market with nearly 50 cross-category showrooms on five floors – with the relocation of Hooker Furnishings to a new 100,000+ square foot showroom on Floor 3. The new space allows the brand to create an immersive branded buying experience for its Bradington-Young, H-Contract, Hooker Casegoods & Upholstery, Sam Moore, Shenandoah Furniture and Sunset West lines. Also in the first phase of updates is an expansion for Forever Green Art (preserved plants and decorative accessories).

In the heart of the Hamilton Wrenn Design District at High Point Market, 200 North Hamilton features three debuts among its nearly 20 design-driven showrooms. The three newcomers are The Eleanor Rigby Leather Company (upholstery and fine furniture), Oliver Home Furnishings (heirloom quality furniture) and Stickley Furniture (iconic American hardwood furniture and upholstery).

Historic Market Square, a former furniture factory that has been transformed into nearly 70 unique showrooms, features four updates in Spring 2023. One new showroom is Accord Lighting (lighting made in Brazil). Two expansions are Dovetail (eclectic handmade furniture, accessories and textiles from around the world) into a nearly 25,000 sq ft space and Unique Loom (area rugs).

Market Square Tower, with 10 floors of textile resources, features three updates. Two new showrooms are Tiger Leather (residential leather and hair-on-hide rugs) and Topteks (textiles). Additionally, Tempo Upholstery & Drapery Fabrics (decorative upholstery and drapery fabric) relocates.

Plaza Suites, a five-floor collection of furniture showroom and temporary exhibits, adds a 30,000 sq ft showroom for Legends Furniture (bedroom, entertainment, fireplaces, office, occasional, sleep and upholstery furniture) plus a new showroom for Nisco (soft furniture). Also in Plaza Suites are some 14 temporary exhibits featuring furniture, bedding and service providers. New temporary exhibitors include Crate N Elm Furniture (American-made hardwood furniture), Orbit Interactive (digital advertising) and YHX Sofa (sofas, chairs, beds and outdoor furniture).

IMC’s High Point properties include: 300 E. Green St.; 300 S. Main St.; Commerce & Design Building; Furniture Plaza; Historic Market Square; International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC); Klaussner on Hamilton; Market Square Textile Tower; National Furniture Mart; Plaza Suites; Showplace; The Suites at Market Square (SAMS); and five on Hamilton Street – 121, 200, 320 and 330 N. Hamilton St., and 129 S. Hamilton St. It presents the only temporary exhibits at High Point Market with 50-plus exhibitors in InterHall, 14 in Plaza Suites and 310-plus in The Suites at Market Square (SAMS) including 60 newcomers.
