GSMA makes changes to bylaws regarding membership

Gift Sales Manager Association (GSMA), the industry’s sole organization created for and by gift and home sales managers, announced that a major change has been made to their bylaws regarding membership.

With an overwhelming majority, 79 of the members of the GSMA passed a bylaw change regarding competition that opens membership to all vendors and their sales managers or sales management consultants in the gift, home décor, and related industries.

Since 2002, the GSMA has leveraged the combined knowledge and experience of its members to discuss all aspects of sales management, with the common goal of improving company operations and increasing sales. “This bylaw change opens the door to increased knowledge sharing between sales management professionals,” said Maureen Carpenter, vice president of nora fleming and president of the GSMA. “As a group, our mission is to grow the industry by responding to the needs of our customers, rep groups and peers through education and communication. This change will help us deliver on our mission in an environment of inclusivity.”

Annual meetings, multiple online forums and events throughout the year foster an exchange of information and ideas that help members grow in their profession, learning new tools and techniques to manage their sales operations.
