GCA seeks presenters for its Workshop + Retreat and extends deadline for presentation submissions

The Greeting Card Association (GCA) sent an email that discussed the details of its annual Workshop + Retreat and disclosed the deadline for those interested in presenting at the event has been extended until July 12.

The email stated:

“We are hosting this year’s Workshop + Retreat VIRTUALLY Sep. 9-10. The 2021 Workshop & Retreat will be a two-day virtual event open to all, with discounted registration for GCA members. Since 1988, the greeting card industry has come together each year to connect, learn, network, and gain new perspectives.

This year’s theme is “See What Unfolds.” We are looking for individuals who would be interested in presenting virtually at the workshop.

After the many challenges wrought by the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses are emerging to new realities, new business practices, and new models of how we connect, communicate, work, and live.

What does that mean for the stationery and greeting card industry? Speakers are sought from within the industry or outside the industry who can speak to this issue broadly and/or specifically relate it to the following topic areas:

1. Sustainability
2. Post-pandemic business and trends
3. Diversity, equity, and inclusion
4. Brand building
5. Pandemic pivots (esp. case studies)

We are interested in hearing from makers, brand builders, creative directors, CMOs, CEOs, CFOs, retailers, buyers, industry suppliers, communications strategists, PR gurus, and futurists: anybody who can speak to weathering difficult times, address the challenges of recovery, and envision what lies ahead.

The submission period has been extended and will close July 12, 2021.”
