Dallas Market Center now requires masks and temperature screenings

Next week Dallas Market Center (DMC) will begin welcoming buyers back to markets at DMC, and it’s critically important to offer an experience that offers each of you confidence in our ability to support your business, health and comfort. Therefore, it is enacting new measures that will continue for the foreseeable future, such as temperature screenings and requiring masks.

These efforts are the result of studying recommendations by national and local health authorities, listening to the advice of Dr. Trish Perl-DeLisle, chief of the division of infectious diseases at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, and following the ordinance passed by Dallas County Commissioners requiring masks inside all businesses.

Temperature Screening and Masks Now Required

How will the temperature screening work?

The number of entrances into Dallas Market Center will be limited beginning Tuesday morning. Available entrances will include World Trade Center front, garage, and Dock 1; Trade Mart front and West; and IHDC front. Once inside, each person will be quickly temperature checked each day; this includes showroom personnel, buyers, staff, and contractors. Each person will receive a colored sticker in order to proceed into the marketplace. Anyone with a temperature above 100 will be escorted to a waiting area and screened a second time. Anyone with a consistently elevated temperature will not be allowed into the marketplace.

What about masks?

We’re cooperating with the recent Dallas County Order stating all individuals must wear an approved personal protective mask or cloth face covering. These masks or coverings must be worn at all times throughout the building common areas except while eating in designated locations. Need a mask? We have them for you. Customers without masks will not be granted access.

Masks and temperature checks are just the most recent efforts we are making as we adapt to changing conditions and follow the advice of medical experts. Click here to read additional details about Health & Safety including what we’re doing and what we expect of you.
