Stationery Trends magazine has announced the winners of its Fourth Annual Stationery Trends Awards, “The Trendys.” More than 156 entries were submitted in the six categories of Baby, Bridal, Green, Greeting Card, Holiday and Office, to be judged by 1,053 registered voters.

New for 2013, a two-tier phase of voting of voting was implemented in which retailers voted to select the finalists in Round One, while Round Two featured a Judges’ Choice award and a People’s Choice award in each category.

The 2013 Trendy Award winners are:

“The Trendys has provided a prestigious platform for us to showcase our products directly to retailers,” said Jill Morrison of Ruff House Art, winner of the People’s Choice award in the Green category. “The exposure and honor of winning a Trendy has had such a positive impact on the sell-ability of our growing retail collection.”

Michelle Wagner and Robin Kornett of RoxyLou Design + Press said that all the hours of blood, sweat and tears (and wine!) has come to fruition with their win of the Judges’ Choice award in the Bridal category.

“We are so honored to be recognized in the Bridal category among such a sea of talent,” Wagner said. “Many thanks, Stationery Trends, for offering such a wonderful opportunity to us. As we continue to grow, we look forward to the future in joining high-end design with old world print — the perfect marriage.”

Angela Ferrara of Pear Tree Greetings, winner of the Judges’ Choice award in the Baby category, said they’re proud and excited about being recognized for their work.

“Our Whimsical Wonder Baby Announcement is such a beautiful design, we are honored it was recognized as a Judges’ Choice favorite,” Ferrara said. “Our design team works hard at incorporating the latest trends while offering truly unique and innovative designs, and it’s an honor to be named a Trendy Award winner.”

Jayme Schutt of Three Designing Women, a multiple Trendy winner, said they were thrilled and honored to be in such good company within the nominations.

“Our customers were such a huge part in our success, we plan to say thank you by running a fabulous promotion to boost their sales,” Schutt said. “Our success is their success and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share it.”

Garin Hussenjian of Ginko Papers said that winning the Judges’ Award in the Greeting Card category was a huge honor for them.

“We’re thankful that the Trendys bring together stationery lovers and create a forum to see new designs and vote for favorites,” Hussenjian added. “We hope programs like this continue to emphasize the need for great paper products in retail outlets.”

The fifth annual Stationery Trend Awards will take place in late 2013. Manufacturers and designers should be on the lookout for submission information in future issues of Stationery Trends and TrendE-News, as well as on Facebook and Twitter.
