Why every retailer loves shopping at Atlanta Market

(Sponsored) Atlanta Market at AmericasMart has it all: gourmet, tabletop, jewelry, home décor, and, of course, the latest trends in gift and stationery products — all in one location.

Allison Bernardi, owner of Hazel + Dot in Tampa, Florida, has attended Atlanta Market for over seven years and considers it a key source of inspiration. She sells a variety of gifts, home accessories and stationery in store and through the Hazel + Dot Instagram account.

“I think (Atlanta Market) is the best place to see a large variety of different categories all in one place. It’s always a great source of inspiration for displays, too. We love getting ideas about how to show the fun products we find,” Bernardi said.

“This past market, we were excited to find so many goods that we are able to customize, which is a great draw for us! We love a good throwback, so we love all the vintage inspiration across all categories, from really beautiful chinoiserie home décor to 70s-inspired jewelry and accessories,” Bernardi said.

Chez Gagne, Black Ink, Friendlily Press and Girl w/Knife were a few brands she placed orders with.

Upcoming trends include simple-styled jewelry, vintage-inspired home décor and gourmet food packages, according to Bernardi. She has also noticed traditional stationery brands expanding their lines to include matches, candles and more.

In recent years, more retailers are turning to online platforms to place orders. And, while online buying has its conveniences, for Bernardi and her team, nothing beats an in-person shopping experience.

“I like the ease of online shopping, but nothing compares to in-person because there are really some things you just need to see and feel in person,” Bernardi said. “We also love getting to see and evaluate products ourselves so that we know exactly what our customers will see.”

Ultimately, Bernardi loves the convenience and ease of Atlanta Market. With several hotels downtown, retailers and buyers can come and go without worrying about transportation.

“We love the convenience of the Atlanta Market,” she said. “It’s an easy drive or a quick flight depending on how much time we’re planning to stay. We love that if we need to step outside our little corner of downtown, the Market makes it easy with access to Ubers right there and even shuttles if we need them.”

Bernardi recommends new retailers who shop at Atlanta Market use the Market Planner to keep track of appointments and vendor locations and overall help organize the hustle and bustle of the market.

“I highly recommend making use of the Market Planner tool as it has been a lifesaver for me,” Bernardi said. “Having the Marker Planner tool helps me keep track of all my appointments and their locations, so I’m not wandering around aimlessly and wasting quality shopping time. I also add everything to my calendar on my phone along with the locations, so it’s easy to quickly glance at what I have coming up.”

Bernardi and her team prioritize shopping at Atlanta Market each year to keep up with the latest trends in all things gifts, décor and more.

“We love shopping at the Atlanta Market and always make it a priority to be there. We have been coming for almost eight years and the whole retailer experience just gets better each year,” Bernardi said.
