Aesthetic of the line?

Smitten on Paper is clean, classic and feminine with a bit of vintage flair. Our products are beautiful and useful. For me, design is always linked to function. Good design doesn’t shout, it whispers, gently pointing the way.

Personal Favorite?

Our Enamel Envelope Paperclips, the first product I designed that was not paper based. They are a tiny, functional piece of art for your desk. They embody our entire design philosophy, create hardworking items that bring joy into the everyday.

Surprise Hit?

Our Weekly List foil notepad. It is made from super thick card-stock with foil stamping on each page. The notepads got us our first big wholesale account, a store we still have a good relationship with today. We mailed a sample to the address of a buyer we found online, and miraculously that little package made it into the right hands and they placed an order. It’s inspired many imitations, but none come close to the original.

Iconic Selection?

The Aimee luxe wedding suite is a perfect representation of our wedding line. Simple and clean with a slight vintage flair and nods to the natural world. The invitation is letterpress printed in a rich green ink and the leaves of the envelope liner are stamped in matte gold foil on sequoia paper.

Current Design Obsession?

Stone carving. I’m continually amazed that delicate and elegant letterforms, flowers and leaves appear out of some of the most solid substances on earth.

Favorite Flower?

The Koko Loko Rose, a mysteriously desaturated blush rose that looks like it was plucked from a vintage photograph.
