Southworth Company Purchases Assets of Lallie, Inc.

Southworth Company, a Massachusetts based manufacturer and marketer of fine cotton fiber business papers, specialty papers and related products, has announced that it has purchased the assets of Maryland based Lallie, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of social stationery, invitations and announcements.

Nancy Lowell Lashley, founder and President of Lallie, Inc., will remain creative director and head of sales and marketing for the Lallie product lines. The Lallie design and production facilities will remain in Millersville, Md.

“We are excited to add the Lallie name to our portfolio of premium brands and expect to leverage their superior design and production capabilities to not only grow the Lallie brand, but to enhance the offering of our other Southworth brands,” said David C. Southworth, president.

“This acquisition will strengthen the Lallie brand by gaining access to Southworth’s 172 years of consumer product goods experience, operational and distribution excellence and new distribution channels,” Lashley added. “It’s an ideal scenario that will help us reach our plans for growth.”

Southworth, a Massachusetts based privately-held company with approximately 150 employees, has corporate offices located in Agawam, and the paper mill facility in Turner’s Falls.
