NSS Future Conference to Explore Social Stationery

The National Stationery Show (NSS), a comprehensive showcase of all things paper – from greeting cards, custom invitations, gift wrap and partyware, to journals, frames, writing instruments, decorative desktop and complementary lifestyle gift – will return with the latest trend-setting products from nearly 800 exhibiting companies, May 20-23, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The 3rd annual Future Conference will be held on Sunday, May 20, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and will explore: “Social Stationery: What’s New, What’s Next?”

Speakers include: Kelly Ricker, executive director of product development for American Greetings; Katherine Rosman, feature reporter for The Wall Street Journal; Elizabeth Bailey Weil, owner Paperwheel Press and head of culture and brand experience Twitter, Inc.; and Rachel V. Ivey, vice president of creative & product development, Crane & Company.

Each speaker will offer her perspective on significant forces impacting the social stationery industry. Ricker will speak to marketing to Generation Y and address marketing both online and in brick and mortar retail stores, as well as provide a perspective on the industry’s “newest” customers. Rosman will address the intersection of paper and digital, a topic about which she has researched and reported extensively.

Weil will discuss the strength of the Internet as a marketing tool while reinforcing its synergies with paper and the written word. In addition to her executive role at Twitter, Inc., Weil also founded and runs her own letterpress studio – two seemingly contradictory avenues of expression. She understands the significance of the Web as a promotional outlet, but is also cognizant of the value and importance of the user experience.

Finally, Ivey will address the critical role design plays in product development and consumer impact. With more than 15 years of experience in the retail industry, Ivey brings a passion for design, an expertise in the communication of color and trend and a strong understanding of brand identity to Crane & Co.

Tickets are available for $75 each through NSS attendee registration at www.nationalstationeryshow.com.
