Mohawk redesigns swatchbook for Skytone paper grade

Mohawk — North America’s largest privately owned manufacturer of fine papers, envelopes and specialty substrates for commercial and digital printing — has announced a redesigned swatchbook for its Skytone paper grade.

The Skytone swatchbook is second in a series of nine, newly redesigned swatchbooks that have been developed to make the paper specification process clearer, easier and more inspirational for designers, printers, stationers and paper enthusiasts.

Mohawk’s Skytone has not changed, but the new swatchbook is designed to give paper specifiers a fresh look at the grade. The swatchbook showcases a collection of 12 pastel shades that evoke the look and feel of genuine parchment paper. Mohawk Skytone papers are ideal for end uses such as certificates, diplomas, invitations, awards, announcements and photo frames.

Mohawk Skytone is FSC-certified, made with 30 percent postconsumer waste fiber and manufactured with wind power. There is an extensive line of matching stocked envelopes available in a variety of styles and sizes.

The Skytone Swatchbook, designed by Hybrid of San Francisco, California, is the second in a series of nine new Mohawk swatchbooks to debut in 2015.

Measuring 6-by-9-inches, the new swatchbooks are significantly larger than Mohawk’s previous collection. Each book features consistent branding, including similarly designed covers and colorful spines displaying the Mohawk logo, swatchbook name and a paper grade descriptor in vertical type.
