Gold & Company Celebrates 30th Anniversary

Gold & Company, a strategic marketing and brand communications firm, is marking its 30-year anniversary working with manufacturers in home/garden décor, fine gifts, stationery, tabletop, furniture, rugs, licensing, textiles and fashion accessories industries.

Founded in 1984 by company president Debra Gold, Gold & Company specializes in creating brand communications, public relations and other essential marketing services for companies ranging from startups to industry leaders. The firm’s longtime clients have included Zodax, Toland Enterprises, Totally Bamboo, Mrs. Grossman’s Paper Company, Design Design, Up with Paper, Lady Jayne Ltd., Michael Wainwright, Joan Baker Designs, and Eastern Breeze (now known as Studio A, a division of Global Views).

“For the past 30 years, it has been my passion and privilege to work in the home, gift, and fashion accessories industries, helping to represent inventive manufacturers and the strikingly designed, useful and imaginative products they produce season after season,” Gold said. “With the many challenges these industries have experienced over the past decade — including the commoditization of many products, less opportunities for true innovators to come into a crowded market, the effect of technology on buying habits and a difficult economic climate — visibility in the marketplace and maintaining a strong brand awareness is even more critical in determining which companies can survive, thrive, gain market share and become leaders at retail. I am honored to have been allowed to contribute to the success of so many manufacturers in this wonderful industry.”

In addition to Gold & Company’s work with vendors, Gold has also served as the strategic communications director, media consultant and buyer education program director for numerous national tradeshows and tradeshow management companies, including Americasmart, the California Gift Show, George Little Management/National Stationery Show, the L.A. Mart, and the California Market Center.
