Gift for Life, National Stationery Show teaming up to participate in AIDS Walk New York

The National Stationery Show will renew its partnership with Gift For Life — the gift, stationery and home industries’ sole charitable organization — to participate in the 30th annual AIDS Walk New York to be held Sunday, May 17.

As part of the fourth consecutive year of the collaboration, the joint Gift for Life/NSS team will recruit walkers to raise funds for the fight against HIV/AIDS, with participants either walking the actual 10K course that starts and ends at Central Park or taking a virtual walk through the aisles of the National Stationery Show, slated to run May 17-20, at the Javits Convention Center in New York City.

In 2014, the Gift for Life/NSS team raised $30,372 — 20 percent more its initial fundraising goal — and was ranked among the top 25 teams participating in AIDS Walk New York. The team’s total donations included a generous $5,000 matching grant from Gift For Life’s charity partner, DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS. With DIFFA on board again with another $5,000 matching grant, the team has set a fundraising goal of $25,000 for 2015.

During the past 30 years, AIDS Walk New York has raised more than $140 million to combat HIV and AIDS. The funds sustain prevention, care, and advocacy programs for the thousands of men, women, and families affected by the disease.
