Applications now accepted for National Stationery Show best new product awards

Leading brands and emerging innovators in social stationery, specialty gifts and DIY/ papercrafting are invited to submit applications through April 17 for the National Stationery Show (NSS) 2015 Best New Product Awards. Winners will be announced in eight categories, including a new Seasonal Greats category at the forthcoming show, May 17-20, 2015, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

“The National Stationery Show’s Best New Product Awards spotlight the outstanding designs and cutting-edge innovations that have been developed by NSS exhibitors for today’s consumers,” said Patti Stracher, vice president and NSS show director. “The competition itself is an avenue for exhibitors to achieve recognition by the global audience attending the NSS and the presentation of the entries at the show is an efficient way to present evolving industry trends.”

Winners will be recognized in eight categories including the premiere of Seasonal Greats, showcasing the best products for seasonal occasions such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. The other seven Award categories are: Paper Love, for greeting cards, social stationery, invitations, announcements and specialty papers; Do It Yourself — DIY for art materials and design tools for papercrafting; Celebrations, with party favors, gift wrap and packaging, paper tableware and décor; Lifestyle, for a full range of specialty gifts, personal and decorative accessories; The Desktop, for writing instruments, journals, calendars and desk accessories; All Things Wedding, for invitations, favors and accessories for weddings and bridal showers; and Eco Chic, for environmentally-conscious items across all product categories.

Products new to market since the 2014 National Stationery Show, or after May 21, 2014, are eligible for the competition, and exhibitor submissions are limited to one product per category. All entries will be showcased within the National Stationery Show’s New Product Display in the Crystal Palace Lobby, and a panel of retailers and trade and consumer editors will determine winners in each of the eight Award categories. Winners in each category will qualify to compete for an overall Best of Show award. All awards will be presented on Sunday, May 17, the opening day of the National Stationery Show.

The show features nearly 800 exhibiting companies and attracts some 10,000 buyers worldwide. The show also presents extensive educational programming, industry events and networking opportunities throughout the market week.
