Seasonal Sketchbook: What’s Now?
In our domain, the big question is not so much, “What’s new?” as “What’s now?” Three of our favorite industry insiders shared a hint of their spring inspirations to help us get a handle on this age-old quandary.
“Lately I’ve been reflecting a lot on the words I’ve been reading — more than usual for this bibliophile — so my little book nook is where I have been doing my best thinking. I’ve been so inspired to write original content and am incorporating it into my illustrations, along with my Indian-inspired doodles of positivity. Since my heritage has also been a very large part of me — the traditions, the festivals, and the colors — bright colors and beautiful patterns always inspire me. To celebrate a new spring, the festival of Holi is celebrated as a symbolic victory of good over evil. We wear white clothes, and enjoy soaking each other with bright colors. And who doesn’t love the idea of filling a blank canvas with bright colors, to bring in some positive vibes!”

“This spring we are inspired by the beauty of our natural surroundings. With so many couples choosing to have destination weddings, we look forward to discovering a location’s cultural history, picturesque landscapes and unique architecture to create invitations that are one of a kind.”

“National Letter Writing Month and the Write On campaign (both in April) are two big things that get us excited for spring. Spring is a time of renewal and for creating new habits — like getting outdoors, being more social and, of course, writing more letters! Spring is also a fun time to be daring with color — and we’re LOVING the color combinations in these stamps. We love putting a few of these gems on our envelopes as the finishing touch to the letters we send.”
