1. When and how did you start working in this business?

I started Printed Ink in the summer of 2012 after deciding to follow my passion and do something that I have always loved. From a little girl, I was always the one to get excited about getting new school notebooks or colorful paper products. It grew with me and now I get just as excited about designing personalized invitations or stationery items for others to enjoy.

2. What is your signature style?
Clean and modern with a touch of whimsy or fun. However, I like to try to include my clients’ personality and style into every custom designed item.

3. What are your most popular stationery offerings?

Wedding invitations and coordinating items, along with office stationery like notebooks, notecards, notepads, etc.

4. Please share the direction your line will be taking.
When I first started Printed Ink, I thought I would focus more on invitations and announcements, but I have found that I love it all too much to limit my offerings to just those things. Recently, my line has taken on a broader spectrum including personalized stationery and gift items like notebooks, notepads, cell phone cases, melamine trays and platters, luggage tags and more. My philosophy is that every part of your life should have some personalized style to it — from your everyday life to parties, events and occasions.

5. What are your top three tips for success?
Be persistent and determined. This is important in any industry and for any business owner. There will be highs and there will be lows, but you have to keep going and learn from every day and every experience and use it to better your business.

Secondly, I would suggest making friends with other people in the industry. Connections and networking can create long lasting relationships that will be good for your business, as well as theirs.

Finally, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Be confident in what you are doing and show others that you believe in your business.
